In February and December 2012, we organised, together with our partner Living Earth, two civic education workshops for leaders from grassroot associations and special interest groups including disabled, street children and youth groups in Douala. These workshops aimed to build the capacity of leaders of vulnerable community groups to better understand their rights to a clean environment and to mobilise local communities to carry out activities to demand these rights are met.
They have been facilitated by advocacy experts from GIC Bellomar and ADAPTIVE MANAGEMENT FOR DEVELOPMENT (AMD INTERNATIONAL).
A training manual has been developed and disseminated to participants. Please do contact us, here to get your own copy.
FCTV will support any advocacy action that will be undertaken by these leaders as part of this project. Stay tuned!!!
